PRESS RELEASE - SERC MADE DECISIONS ON TARIFFS FOR DISTRIBUTION AND SUPPLY IN THE BRČKO DISTRICT OF BIH Print

At the session of the State Electricity Regulatory Commission held on 21 January 2026 in Tuzla, the decisions on tariffs for distribution services and electricity supply within the universal service in the Brčko District of BIH were adopted, which will be applied as of 1 February 2026. The public hearing in this tariff proceedings was held on 18 December 2025 in Brčko.

An average price of electricity for customers supplied within the universal service increased by 6.8%, with a 7.06% increase for the consumption category of households while for the category of other consumers, that is commercial customers connected to 0.4 kV whose annual  consumption does not exceed 35,000 kWh, the increase amounts to 5.61%. The average electricity prices for households and the customers belonging to the category of other consumers supplied within the universal service amount to 23.07 fening/kWh and 25.37 fening/kWh respectively.

These price changes were caused by an increase in the electricity purchase price, which is 8.18% higher in comparison to the price in 2025, which reflects the price trends in the wholesale electricity market in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region.

In the decision-making process, SERC took into account the measures of the Brčko District Government under which a part of electricity costs for vulnerable customers has been subsidised for several years already as well as the funds allocated to the 2026 budget by the Assembly of the Brčko District of BIH for subsidizing the electricity purchases.
