SUMMARY
of Rules on amendments to Connection Rules

In its work, the State Electricity Regulatory Commission (SERC) has been continuously monitoring and supporting the development of new technologies which are conducive to further electricity market development and the stability of the electric power system in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Safe and reliable operation of the power system while enabling the integration of new technologies into the electric power system, is one of the preconditions for further market development and quality supply of electricity customers. Enabling investment in new technologies such as electricity storage will improve the quality of system operation while enhancing its flexibility and providing additional opportunities both in the electricity market and for running of the system.

Acknowledging that electricity storages are already regulated through the Network Code and Market Rules, as well as the purpose of the energy regulations of the European Union and the Energy Community, which become obligatory for BIH as well, SERC is of the opinion that there are justified reasons for their regulation also through the Connection Rules.  To this end, at the session held on 16 July 2025 SERC defined  Draft rules on amendments to the Connection Rules.

At the same time the State Electricity Regulatory Commission issues a

NOTICE
ON GENERAL PUBLIC HEARING

Draft rules on amendments to the Connection Rules are made available to the public for information purposes with a view to obtaining suggestions, comments and opinions of interested parties in order to improve the text thereof.

Interested persons may obtain the Draft rules at the SERC seat (Tuzla, Đorđa Mihajlovića 4/II), or download it in electronic form from www.derk.ba. Verbal and written comments may be given at a general public hearing which will be held on Thursday, 24 July 2025, commencing at 11:00, at the SERC seat in Tuzla, Đorđa Mihajlovića 4/II. All interested parties, who submit their requests for participation to SERC no later than one day before the hearing, may attend the general public hearing without any special limitations except with regard to the duration of comments.
